What if we have everything we need?
What if it all works out?
What if we get it right?
Once We Were Free…
Once (upon a time) we were free…
we held each other, we laughed often and hard,
we caressed time into a careening.
We flew away and came back home, we flowed like the river and became the river.
We found breath in ourselves and we were the breath,
wide and reaching like our nervous systems.
Wide and reaching and tectonic and brave.
We are still fundraising to support the production of this work. Please consider making a tax deductible gift.
How to prepare for Once We Were Free… (FAQs)
Bring a blanket, chair or surface to sit comfortably on the grass.
Bring water or a hydrating beverage.
Consider bringing a hat, sunglasses, parasol, or fan for sun shade and optimal cooling.
We will be in the park at dusk and mosquitoes emerge as the sun sets. You may want a natural bug spray.
We are asking community members to bring fruit offerings of grapes, tangerines, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries to share with audience and performers.
Bring a reusable bowl or container and utensil to enjoy fruit from the fruit offerings.
If you would like to make a monetary donation in person, we will pass an offering plate during the event.
Bring an open spirit and prayers for future liberation.
